Bell Centennial is typeface designed by Matthew Carter (1937-) and released in 1978. He was comissioned by AT&T to substitute Bell Gothic. Bell Centennial is a condensed sans serif with increased legibility at small sizes. The use of ink traps solved technical and aesthetical problems on the new offset presses.
